Shot over a 17-year period with the same actors, this mockumentary tells the story of aspiring film student Tim Christopher, who sees a chance to break into show business by making a documentary about his long-absent father -- Sam Christopher, beloved to millions as child star “Silly Billy” on “The Silly Billy Show.” Tim plans to combine new footage with old footage shot twelve years ago during a futile reunion of “The Silly Billy Show." Yet, as shooting of the new footage commences, Sam takes over the shoot, becoming increasingly argumentative with Tim and his buddy Marcus. As the three travel to sites associated with “The Silly Billy Show,” and as we flashback to interviews conducted with old friends and associates, it becomes clear that Sam’s bitterness about his past, including his stormy relationship with Tim’s mother Susan, is causing the entire project to unravel. This summer's journey becomes a multimedia scrapbook, taking Sam and Tim back and forth in time even as they begin to confront an increasingly uncertain future.
